The Bible Story Study: Student Workbook for Homeschool Students in Middle and High School
Study 50 Key Chapters to Discover the Whole Story of the Bible Through 12 Eras
Homeschooling is the best way to teach children about the Bible. Give your middle and high school students a Bible Study that is simple and straightforward.
This study helps children make sense of the whole story of the whole Bible and how God worked through His people to bring forth the Savior and how He is moving throughout the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This workbook is a follow-up for students who have completed 30 Days to Understanding the Bible in 15 Minutes a Day by Max Anders. That book introduces the eras of the Bible in 30 Days! It’s easy to follow and a great foundation for digging into the Scriptures to see the story unfold firsthand. All together this becomes an 80 day overview study of the whole Bible.
In this workbook, students study 50 key chapters, from Genesis 1 to Revelation 21, and discover how every part of Scripture belongs to one story: God’s plan from creation to new creation.
The lessons are organized into 12 eras: Creation, Patriarch, Exodus, Conquest, Judges, Kingdom, Exile, Return, Gospel, Church, Missions, and Final Consummation. Each chapter is placed in its era, so students learn the story, the timeline, and how the books of the Bible connect.
Every lesson includes two pages:
- Lesson Overview: the chapter’s era, theme, and focus, a short summary, and 9 comprehension questions to preview before reading and answer afterward: 6 literal questions answered directly from the text and 3 inferential questions that build deeper thinking.
- Daily Chapter Worksheet: students summarize the chapter, identify key people and events, reflect on what it teaches about the nature of God and the nature of man, and write a personal response.
Also included:
- A 12-era overview chart with a checklist for all 50 lessons
- A 17-week reading plan (3 lessons a week) that also serves as the table of contents
- A How to Use page with step-by-step daily instructions and a guide to writing a personal response
- A Nature and Character of God reference chart: 20 attributes, each with supporting Scripture references
- A Nature of Man reference chart: Created, Fallen, Redeemed, and Restored, each with supporting Scripture references
Details: 106 pages, 8.5 × 11 in., printable. Each lesson’s overview and worksheet print front and back on one sheet. Works for homeschool, Christian school, youth group, Sunday school, or personal study.
