The Biblical Lullaby – Literature Study (PK–3rd)
Each lesson centers on a well-known lullaby tune paired with a key biblical account, such as Creation, Baby Jesus, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, the Lord’s Prayer, the Good Shepherd, and Heaven. Children sing, listen, observe, discuss, and reflect as they learn how music, rhythm, imagery, and rhyme work together to communicate meaning. Lessons intentionally connect literature concepts (rhyme, imagery, personification, theme) with Scripture and worldview training, helping children learn to think, reason, and respond biblically.
This study is designed to be family-centered and flexible, with lessons that can be completed in 30–45 minutes, 2–3 days per week. Activities include notebook pages, coloring pages, reason questions, optional essays, glossary work using Webster’s 1828 Dictionary, and hands-on enrichment such as singing, movement, and memory games. The notebooking structure encourages organization, narration, and self-government while allowing parents to adjust the workload for younger or older students.
More than a music or literature unit, The Biblical Lullaby is a tool for shaping the heart and mind. It invites children to slow down, listen carefully, and delight in God’s Word through song—laying a foundation for biblical thinking, meaningful family learning, and a lifelong love of Scripture and literature.
